Read MoreI’m only a few episodes into Netflix’s new animated anthology series Love, Death & Robots, but the Three Robots short is definitely an early standout for me. Lu Sim made a MOC of one of the titular robots, who comes from a long line of baby monitors. He also created some fun alternate expressions for the lil’ guy. I wanna animate him!
These robots, inspired by the classic and well-loved Space theme, are always willing to lend a helping...claw? GolPlaysWithLego built these very friendly looking robots earlier this week. Not only do they have a unique style of legs and bodies, but they look quite efficient and in good condition. I'd be okay with these bots working on my spaceship, would you?
Try saying that three times fast. Drone lovers beware, there's a dangerous group of rogue robots on the loose. Hide your LEGO first, then your children. These guys incorporate so many different elements that it takes a very keen eye to catch them all. Something else that I personally appreciate is that they're not all the same model, or even the same size -- they come in all shapes and sizes! While the very little one on the far left is cute, I find the one to its right even more adorable! Most robots tend to not feel emotion, but this group seems like a well-oiled family. Nice work on these, .Tromas!
If I had to pick one word to describe this new mech from Moko, it would have to be "beefy". Just look at the lines on this, the mass, the strength. This is the sort of machine you go into battle with, clomping headlong into the fray. And judging by the firepower on this, it's going to pack a wollup. The color scheme is also very nice, all that olive green gives this a definite military feel.
Spotted this nifty rig, with a crafty mix of new and old elements. FLAVIO's been building a vast collection of these robots, but there's something about this little dude, with the telephones and baseball hats that really caught my eye. Plus the old-school bulldozer tread links for feet. Wicked!
When I was a kid, I always thought it would be cool to have a pet monkey, you know, to fetch stuff I couldn't reach, throw excrement at people I didn't like, and such. But now that I'm older, I've started thinking that a general purpose robot would be MUCH handier. And less messy. My old buddy Simon, aka Si-MOCS has built this nifty dude, Claptrap, from a video game called Borderlands 2. You'll notice the high intensity greebling under the arm, and the well textured wheel. But the use of the PAB cup as the eye cover is, at least as far back as I can remember, unique. Darned clever!
Some builders just excel in a particular genre, and some own it. When it comes to large robotic figures, m_o_n_k_e_y is one of my favorite builders. His latest creation, Big Daddy, is typical of his unique style. I love the color scheme, the simulated mechanics, the clean construction and the pose-ability of this one. And those feet are particularly stompy.
