Stranger Thingz

I'm a big Stranger Things fan, and I'm not alone. Something about that creative story telling infused with some serious 80's feels resonated with a lot of people, and the show was a runaway hit. Builder Casey M is a fan, in fact he's got an ongoing Stranger Things display for Brickworld, and this excellent collection of Brickheadz is just part of it.

Getting Old

Having recently joined the half century club, I can sort of relate to this MOC by builder tankm. Not that I'm using a cane yet, but I'm certainly not in the fresh flush of youth any more. According to the builder this is a future self portrait, and I think it's wonderful. We should all imagine ourselves enjoying beautiful places in the winter of our lives.

The Dream Of Flight

Humans have always envied birds. For as long as we've been looking up, we've been longing to take to the skies. Thankfully, we were clever enough to figure out how, and flying airplanes is now the aspiration. Like this little one by builder tankm, we can all dream of flight, and the dream is within reach. 

Under The Sea

I mostly took a day off yesterday (I say mostly because I rarely take a whole day off) and just hung out with Mrs BrickNerd. We even took a little time to build the Belle and Beast Brickheadz. And then today I see that Swan Dutchman has built two characters from one of Mrs BrickNerd's all time favorite movies, The Little Mermaid, so I just had to share. Here is Ariel and Ursula, done to perfection.

"Zoinks"

Saturday mornings were a big deal when I was a kid (yeah, WAY back then). Kids today can't understand the struggle that was kid friendly television back then. We waiting all week for some decent TV, and you can bet we weren't going to miss it. Scooby Doo was a big part of that, and we looked forward to the adventures of Scooby and the gang. Builder BRICK 101 understands how important these two are, and has immortalized them in Brickheadz form. Not only that, but he shows how to build them in this video, check it out.

For The Horde!

It's been a while since I've seen characters from World of Warcraft. I've never played myself, but my boys dedicated no small amount of their lives to this game not that long ago. I did see the movie, but like the other non players in the audience, we were all going "huh? who? what?" These are members of the Horde by builder YOS Bricks, namely Cairne Bloodhoof,  leader of Thunder Bluff, Vol'jin, chieftain of the Darkspear tribe and Rexxar, champion of the Horde.

Be Our Guest

Cogsworth and Lumière are my favorite characters from Beauty and the Beast (the animated one, not that weird live action one) and I really dig these interpretations done in a BrickHeadz style by builder fxandrw. They would make a nice accompaniment with the official BrickHeadz pair.

ZombieHeadz

It's still not quite October yet, but the Halloween store is open where the old Mervyn's used to be, spooky stuff is all over Wal-Mart and Mrs. BrickNerd is shopping for pumpkins this morning. So it's pretty good timing for this rather disturbing BrickHeadz offering from builder Manufactura Jarema. Zombies, they just go to pieces.

Alien Vs Predator

And when I say "vs" it's not in the context of these two fighting, it's more of a "cute-off". Yes, two of the most feared adversaries seem to be in a battle to out ugly each other, but failing miserably because they're so darned adorable. I think if the crew of the Nostromo or Arnold had been up against these two the results might have been far more "squee". Nice build Mr. Brickman.

BrickMorphz

What do you get when you mashup Brickheadz with Transformers? You get BrickMorphz from the extraordinary imagination of builder Unijob Lindo. This is Blue Unit 09, AKA Crab-Bot Brawler (say that three times fast) and Red Unit 155, AKA Battle Truck. Both are the perfect blend of blocky, big-headed fun and transforming action, what a fun concept.

AFOL

There's no description on these charming images by builder manufacturajarema, so it's been up to me to interpret what I see (a dangerous proposition sometimes). What I see is me, or at least someone like me, an AFOL. This looks like an AFOL residing over his table at an event, proudly displaying his work to the public (and waiting for the next event, let's say blind build).

Who You Gonna Call?

We've seen a lot of BrickHeadz in recent weeks, clearly the form factor resonates with the community. Most of them don't do much for me personally, but I do really dig these from builder bricks.life.idea. Of course it helps that they're based on one of my all time favorite movies, Ghostbusters. There's more characters too, including Dana and Louis, click though to check them out.

Queen Vs Powerloader

It seems like the AFOL world has gone Brickheadz crazy, but I'm sort of ok with it as long as cool stuff like this keeps cropping up. Ripley herself would be proud of these adorable Queen Alien and Powerloader from builder GolPlaysWithLego. But that doesn't mean the drama isn't there, any second now Ripley's gonna cry out "get away from her you brickhead" and toss her in the airlock.

Ugly March Madness

How do you feel about LEGO's official Brickheadz line?  Are they not ugly enough for you?  Well, character creator Iain Heath has fixed that for you, creating his own line of Rejectz characters!  These heroes can take a beating. . .or already have?  Despite the exaggerated ugliness, each of these figures is still packed with character!  Which one has the face only a mother could love?

Brickheadz In Disguise

In the wake of the new Brickheadz Super Heroes line announced at this weekend's San Diego Comic Con, it didn't take long for AFOLs to start making Brickheadz of other characters, such as these great Transformers by Tankm.
