Review - 75164 Rebel Trooper Battle Pack
/Following up on our last review, now we're looking at the battle pack for our rebels, a 2017 release! Another 120 pieces is included in this $15.00 set, and I feel it's definitely worth the new price. (Previously battle packs were around $13.00 in the US.)
Between the two battle packs released, this one has more pieces, and the figures are each different. The pieces and colors included here are much better than the Imperial pack.
Just like our typical packs, two bags of parts dump out upon opening the box. One instruction booklet is all you need, and absolutely no stickers or printed elements with this set.
The extra pieces are a little bit more exciting than the last set, including a couple extra nozzles and a mask for one of our rebel helmets.
As stated above, each figure included in this set is different. Sometimes it's a nice change to get a variety, rather than all the same figure or two variants. It's appropriate that the figures here are different, since the Alliance didn't really have a set uniform. All the detailing on these figures is amazing, demonstrating that battle pack figures continue to get better! The straps, buckles, and pouches also continue around onto their backs, which is great. Quite a bargin!
This set gives the rebels two builds, compared to the Imperials who got one. One rebel soldier can man a mounted turret (left) and defend the line against the Death Troopers. Another rebel could hop on that slick speeder (right) and take the battle to the Empire. I particularly like that speeder bike. It's something unique that if you had multiples, it would fit well in a battle scene.
Based on the nice variety of figures, their detailing, and the parts/builds included with this set, I give it a higher approval rating than the previous battle pack.
Parts included: 4/5 Build: 3.5/5 Figures: 4.5/5Overall rating: I'll give it 4 out of 5 Nerdlys!
