100 Days of BrickNerdiness

It has been 100 days since we launched the new BrickNerd—we can’t believe how fast the time has flown by! For more than three months, our international team of LEGO superfans has worked hard to get nerdy about the bricks, share stories about the people behind the builds, and highlight the best the LEGO community has to offer.

In that time we’ve shared how to build a castle, a car, and Baby Yoda. We’ve explored using LEGO for pain management, seen the original patent, and even solved a mystery. We’ve learned about SNOT, sorting, and other “barely legal” building techniques. We’ve featured custom minifigures, Dino Dudes, and fighting robots. And we’ve celebrated collabs about racing teams, mechs, the Island of Doom, and quilts.

We’ve explored how con kits are made, how a treasure was found, the history of FebRovery, and how much COVID has affected the community. We’ve showcased bonsai trees, a Star Destroyer, a mall, and a tribute to Trebek. We’ve highlighted community headlines, contests, and even hosted our own. We’ve taken deep dives into frogs, pianos, Ninjago, and stickers… and we are just getting started!

As you can tell, we are an eclectic bunch of BrickNerds with stories to tell. That variety and depth of culture are what bring together the LEGO community with our common love for the brick. You can explore the articles we have published daily in the interactive calendar at the bottom of this post to see if you’ve missed anything, and you can be sure that more fascinating nerdiness is on the way.

We hope by now that we’ve earned your trust by providing quality LEGO content, but we need your help.

Everyone who contributes to BrickNerd is a volunteer, writing in their spare time. We want to continue giving back to the community by writing articles, conducting research into LEGO topics on your behalf, sponsoring LEGO conventions, hosting building contests with cool prizes, and making some amazing swag to share—all while NOT shoving advertising in your faces.

We can do that if you support us by becoming a patron. Any pledge helps us continue highlighting this amazing LEGO community and gives us more freedom to tackle even bigger projects. And there are perks to becoming a patron, like early previews to our articles, access to our private Discord community, lots of cool swag, and an invite to our regular “Nerd Out with BrickNerd” calls with the whole team.

If Patreon is not your thing, there are other ways you can help too! You can shop on LEGO.com or Amazon with our affiliate links which contributes a small portion of your total purchase price to BrickNerd. You can make a one-time donation using the yellow button in the side column. Or you can even join the team if you want to share some of your own unique LEGO nerdiness with the world (email dave@bricknerd.com for more info).

But most importantly, we wanted to thank our readers. YOU are the entire reason we are doing this. We enjoy reading your thoughts in the comments, meeting you online, and chatting about what we should write about next. We love seeing the discussions and dialogue in the community and on our social media channels like Facebook and Instagram.

So thank you for reading, for sharing, for commenting, and for donating. We are excited for 100 more days here at BrickNerd, and we can’t wait to share with you what’s coming next.
