It has been eight years since the first post on TBB, and what an eventful eight years it has been. TBB was one of the first websites I found when I was discovering that I wasn't the only adult playing with LEGO ("adult" used here as a measurement of time, not maturity). They've been a source of inspiration and information for years and they're nothing less than awesome. Happy B-Day TBB!
San Diego Comic-Con is only a few days away. If you're attending I'd like to invite you to a panel, BrickJournal: LEGO as an Art Form. It's on Saturday at 5:00PM in room 23ABC. It features BrickJournal's Joe Meno, LEGO Artist and STUDS founder Brandon Griffith, world famous LEGO artist Nathan Sawaya and me (wait a minute, me?) Yes, for some reason I was invited to sit on this panel with three totally awesome AFOLs, go figure.
Every year I look forward to the holiday season just like any other kid. And every year I look forward to adding to my collection of winter sets from LEGO. This year we are treated to a little market, complete with several vendors, a park bench and a cute little merry-go-round.

The LEGO SDCC exclusives have been revealed, and they're pretty sweet. Hundreds are supposed to be given away next week so limber up those line waiting muscles and wear comfortable shoes.
What more do I have to say? Go get a free Slurpee! Oh, and this MOC from the Mini Shop Series on Cuusoo is brilliant, as they all are. It's supported, but still waiting for official word from LEGO.
No Starch Press announced the German versions of The LEGO Adventure Book, Vol. 1: Cars, Castles, Dinosaurs & More! and The Unofficial LEGO Technic Builder's Guide. I can't speak nor read German and I'll spare you the comedy of using Google Translate to generate some German wit.
Hey LEGO fans, registration for 2013 BrickCon in Seattle is open. BrickCon is my favorite con, and special to me since it was my first con. The theme this year is Pigs vs Cows! Yes, that ages old barnyard rivalry comes to a head this year and who knows who will come out on top. Register today, get building and we'll see you in October!
Star Wars Days are in full swing at LEGOLAND California and my friends in LUGOLA (LEGO User Group Of Los Angeles) and SandLUG (San Diego LEGO User Group) are representing with some awesome builds. Get there, you must.
Moments ago at Brickworld in Chicago LEGO Unveiled set 10234. Head over to my buddies The Brothers Brick for full details.
If you're in southern California this weekend be sure to head on down to LEGOLAND California in Carlsbad for Star Wars Days. There will be loads of activities, characters and intergalactic fun. While there be sure to check out the worlds largest LEGO model, the life-size X-Wing just landed. Also be sure to check out the displays by my friends at SandLUG and LUGOLA, they've been in a building frenzy for this weekend.
