Rock, Paper, Scissors

It’s a challenge dating back ages, an eternal struggle between the forces of flat, heavy and pointy, the decisive battle that can resolve any dispute, it’s ro-sham-bo, better known as rock, paper, scissors. Builder Adam Dodge has visualized this conflict in pretty much the best way ever.

Circle Rocks

I'm not surprised I haven't heard of the band Circle, they're from Finland and I can't even pronounce their best known songs. But builder Pate-keetongu is a big fan, and I'm a big fan of Eero's, so I'm going to call myself a fan-by-proxy. I certainly dig this tribute build to the band, and all six current band members. I've also listened to some of their music now, they're legit. Rock on Circle, rock on.

Gotham Rocks

Even as overrun with crime as Gotham is (seriously, even with Batman on the case, there's crime everywhere all the time!), every once in a while you just need to stop and rock out. Thanks to builder rsmbricks we get to see what exactly that looks like, and it looks awesome! I don't know what they're playing, but they're certainly rockin'.

Abbey of St. Delyn

Round structures built with square bricks always impress me, but this one also has flat edges that transition to round ones and a slight taper, which sort of blows my admittedly tiny mind. Other details like the roofs,  the color palette and the spooky little swampy forest at the bottom make this a very interesting and lovely bit of castle goodness.

Crossing Orange Fern Gorge

If you have a fear of heights you may want to look away. In so many classic adventure movies and action serials, the slatted suspension bridge was a nefarious obstacle. Who can forget Indy vs the Thugee warriors on the bridge in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom? Of course in the movie the rock walls of the cavern were sort of plain and uninteresting. Not the case in this excellent MOC by builder W. Navarre. The stratum of the rock is my favorite feature of this build.

Rock Golem

This fascinating character comes from m_o_n_k_e_y. It is at once massive and delicate, intimidating and innocent. I love the use of greenery and stonework to set the scale, and the face couldn't be more simple, but perfect.
