White Lotus Priest

It's been a while since we've featured a good tilted timbers build here, thankfully builder jaapxaap is there to give us our fix with this wonderfully disheveled, colorful dwelling. The color palette on this is stunning and eye-grabbing, while still feeling somewhat natural. Considering the colors chosen this is not logical, but really works.

House On Striped Pillars

Builder betweenbrickwalls is back with another gorgeous house with a modern flair, welcome to House on Striped Pillars. Like the other two houses in this series, it is incorporated directly into a rocky cliffside, and those rock forms are integral into the design. With all the windows and open air spaces, I have to imagine the views would be stunning.

Green Rock House

There's really no description or details about this gorgeous house from builder betweenbrickwalls, so I'm left to speculate. It's based on a real house built in 1968 from renown architect Mitchell McAlester. Built directly into the cliffs above Santa Fe New Mexico, what isn't as well known is it was built for eccentric artist Buddy Clifton, who was actually a secret agent working for an undisclosed government agency. The house actually serves as a facade to the underground bunker that extends some 300 meters into solid rock. Today it's a popular tourist attraction and exceptionally profitable Airbnb. I made all that up. But seriously, it's a fantastic build and there's plenty more pictures after the jump, including some amazing furnishings inside.

The Burrow

It's the Weasley family homestead!  From the Harry Potter series, if you're not already familiar.  Marcel V. presents his largest moc to date, and what a build it is.  Ingenious techniques abound in this display, and Marcel gives credit where credit is due.  If you happen to be at the Comic Con in Germany, you can see it in person.  And yes, Harry, it is brilliant!

Dream House

Move over Barbie, there's a new Dream House in town. I hope you're not in a hurry dear readers, because this stunning three story house by builder alanboar takes a little while to look at. A long while in fact because it's positively packed with detail and excellent building. Not only is each floor fully decked out, each has it's own decorating style. The Blue Shield Inn

I imagine that if I was a traveler in medieval times, an inn like this one from builder Halhi14 would be such a welcome sight. I can easily imagine this because even if I was traveling today I think I would be irresistibly drawn to this place. How could you resist such rich detail rustic charm? 

The Blacksmith's House

When you spend every day looking for notable MOCs it gets more and more rare that you say to yourself "that's cool, I've never seen that before". Well it happened this morning when I gazed upon this lovely little blacksmiths house by Simon S. The first thing that caught my attention was the cool purple shingled roof, but then I saw the walls festooned with all manner of armor and I was smitten.

Beautiful Abandonment

Here at BrickNerd we like to look back from time to time, like that time some guy no one had heard of came out of his dark ages and BOOM, we get this. I believe my original response to this jaw-dropping MOC was "whhaaaaaaaaaa?". Mike Doyle has since established himself as a brick artist of the first calibre, and his book Beautiful LEGO has been a big hit. I'm honored to have been included in it.

Gloomy Gulch

It's spooky, it's creepy and it's freakin' brilliant. It's the Gloomy Gulch by Derfel Cadarn. This spectacular piece is rich with detail, texture and outstanding building techniques. I especially love the sloping roofs and the walls. Click through for more pictures.
