Star Wars Mini Busts

Check out these awesome little Star Wars MOCs from builder DOGOD Brick Design. It's everyone's favorite droid trio, C-3PO, R2-D2 and BB-8. With a pin or magnet on the back they would be a pretty nifty little wearable. But as they are I'm going to call them mini busts. 

Three Droids And A Princess

As I type this (in a McDonald's in San Gabriel) I'm counting down the hours to when Bricks LA starts. One of the things I'm looking forward to, besides spending time with all my AFOL friends, is seeing so many awesome MOCs in person. I'm especially looking forward to seeing this amazing group by Miro78. Threepio is the latest addition to this excellent Star Wars collection, and he's all built in gold, with an especially clever use of Wu's hat on his belly. I will point out however he should have a silver lower right leg, just sayin'.

Twas The Night Before Christmas...

The stockings were hung, Mickey, Pooh Bear and Tigger
ready for polybags, or something much bigger

Too blocky and cool to be confused with an elf.

We're all ready for Christmas here at the BrickNerd residential compound (my house). We have a few last minute projects to do, but for the most part we're just waiting for Santa and his reindeer. Speaking of which, check out this spectacular recreation of the classic Lucasfilm Christmas card from 1978 by builder Kevin Wollert. It's a very Star Warsy Christmas indeed.

The Droids I'm Looking For(ward To)

Yesterday was Force Friday, and while my current budget doesn't support a Star Wars shopping spree, it was certainly fun to see such a rush of Star Wars activity all around the interwebs, including Flickr. And while I understand that these droids by Umamen aren't the droids you're looking for, they're for sale if you want them, and you should move along.

Let The Wookie Win

In my post SDCC afterglow (my mind is still swimming from that awesome EP7 behind the scenes reel) I find myself even more excited for the upcoming Star Wars film, which I didn't think was possible. And my Flickr feed seems to reflect the fact that everyone else is getting pretty jazzed about Star Wars these days. And this excellent little vignette by StarWarsKev124 from one of my favorite scenes from A New Hope, where we learn that Chewie likes to win...I mean he really likes to win.

"There Was Nothing You Could Have Done Luke Had You Been There..."

I love a MOC picture that makes me look twice. This one by markus19840420 is so carefully reconstructed from the pivotal scene in Star Wars that it almost looks like a still from the movie as a thumbnail. I especially love the sandcrawler, which is built with a great care to look like scene in the movie. And Threepio's silver right leg, nice touch.

"R2-D2, Where Have You Been?"

This is a MOC with a couple of robot looking guys and a girl with cinnamon buns stuck to her head. Or maybe that's a futuristic trash can? This must be from that Star Trek show or maybe that other one, Starbucks is it? I don't know. The things that show up in movies these days. 

He Was Built By WHO?!

As you all know, I'm not much of a prequel fan. They all have a few moments, but overall I kind of pretend they didn't happen. This is a good example why. C-3PO was built by Anakin!?!? WTF? I know a very large percentage of films require both the suspension of disbelief as well as the acceptance of a coincidence, but come on! That being said, this MOC by Omar + kamitera is quite cool.
