Read MoreI may officially be a “BrickNerd” but there is no subject about which I am historically nerdier than The Beatles. So I present to you “The Thirteen British Beatles Album Covers” created in LEGO.
Read MoreSpend any extended time with me and you'll hear three things: Me saying something stupid, but funny, the distinct sound of a rummaged LEGO bin and Beastie Boys playing in the background. I've been listening since 1986 (the year I graduated, sheesh) and have seen them in concert and owned every album. I cheered when they were inducted into the hall of fame and wept when we lost Yauch. So you can imagine my reaction when I saw this absolutely perfect recreation of their first album cover by builder Brick Flag. The attention to detail is stunning, from the logo on the tail to the distinctive damage on the front, it's so good. Now if you'll excuse me, I think I need to get my Brass Monkey on.
Well this is a nice coincidence! This morning I was building while listening to the new, remastered version of Radiohead's classic album OK Computer (which turns 20 this year!) I check Flickr and Anthony Wilson has remade the iconic album cover in bricks. And he totally nailed it. Great MOC, great album.
This is one of those pieces that you can easily miss because it's so well done you might just skip over it confusing it's thumbnail for just a photo. According to builder vitreolum it's the single most difficult MOC he's ever built, and I can believe it. Just compare it to the actual album cover and you can see what a labor of love this was.
