LEGO Contest Round-Up for August 2021

Ready for another month of competitive building? Here’s a new batch of LEGO contests and challenges from all around the AFOL community for August 2021 to help you find some inspiration and motivation to build! There’s nothing quite like a theme or a prompt to take you out of your comfort zone and give you something new to try. Besides, contests are the perfect place to interact with other contestants and judges and get to know your fellow builders. And if you’re like me, a deadline helps make sure you actually finish!
We’ve listed them in order of deadline, so you can plan your building time to the best advantage. Make sure to check the LEGO activity calendar for local challenges and events near you. Here at BrickNerd, some of our fondest memories, greatest building achievements, coolest trophies, and best friendships came from LEGO contests, so we really hope you try some of these out. We look forward to seeing what you build!
Recreate a classic LEGO set using Technic pieces!
Deadline: August 9th
Prize: First place gets to choose between 42114 Volvo Articulated Hauler, 42121 Heavy-duty Excavator, and 42122 Jeep Wrangler. Second place chooses between the remaining two sets, while the third set goes to third place.

Build a LEGO food truck or another creation that brings the party atmosphere!
Deadline: August 15th
Prize: First place in each of two categories, one for digital builds and one for physical builds, will receive a €40 gift voucher for Unique Bricks (Unieke Bricks). Second place in each category will receive a €20 gift voucher for Unique Bricks (Unieke Bricks).

Masterpiece Monthly Contest
Flex your constraction building skills with the theme of Yokai!

Prize: Star Wars K-2S0 Buildable Figure

Design a fun and magical banner to inspire storytellers to create new worlds!
Deadline: August 31st
Prize: $250 for at minimum three designers
Where to enter: Tongal (note: you are not allowed to share images anywhere else)
Looking for an excuse to build Star Wars? Look no farther!
Deadline: September 4th
Prize: First place will receive a $125 Amazon Gift Card. Second place will receive #75258 Anakin’s Podracer™. Third place will receive #75295 LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon Microfighter.

Show us what you can do with a LEGO DOTS cube!
Deadline: September 12th
Prizes: First place will receive a golden Nerdly trophy, a BrickNerd box full of swag and surprises, and fifteen sheep. Second place will receive a golden Nerdly trophy, a BrickNerd box full of swag and surprises, and ten sheep. Third place will receive a golden Nerdly trophy, a BrickNerd box full of swag and surprises, and five sheep.

The long-running Role-Playing-Game Guilds of Historica is celebrating ten years with a series of fun challenges, including a minifigure category and an Ancient Wonders category!
Deadline: September 30th
Prize: First and second place in both categories will receive two new falcon knight minifigures and an engraved GoH brick. First place in the Ancient Wonders category will also receive 21325 Medieval Blacksmith.
Where to enter: EB forums (note: you must be a member of GoH with three creations posted, though these can be from after the start of the contest)
One month, one SHIP, one hundred (+) studs!
Deadline: September 30th
Pre-SHIPtember deadline: Finish anytime, but not more than 30 days from your start time!

Build something that reminds you of New York City out of bricks!
Deadline: September 30th
Prize: The grand prize winner will receive a $4,000 LEGO gift card. The first prize winner will receive a $500 LEGO gift card.

If you enjoy building MOCs in recent history themes, here’s a challenge for you!
Deadline: December 7th
Prize: Multiple places will be awarded BrickMania kits (which kit TBA).

Bio-cup is on it’s final round; it’s not open to new contestants, but you can still enjoy the spectacle!
Deadline: August 11th
The first round is over, but you can still follow the action and enjoy the themed microbuild battles that participants engage in!
