Spooky

The timing of series 12 and particularly this Minifig is perfect for Halloween. I spent a happy few minutes manhandling all the packages at Wal-Mart looking for this one (to no avail, I did score a gamer and pizza guy though). This shot by DigiNik13 is superb, with perfect composition, excellent lighting and an interesting but non-intrusive background. Well done!

Benny Turns 30!

It was 1984 when LEGO introduced the blue classic space minifigure, just 30 short years ago (and I was in high school, jeez I'm old). To celebrate builders are gathering hilarious pics in the Flickr group Benny's 30th Birthday Bash. From the looks of it, Benny's been up to some antics, what will he be up to next?

This great hall by MinifigNick is massive, and positively packed with detail. I really encourage you to click through and view the largest picture of this stunning diorama. There's detail everywhere you look and it tells a rich story of the night before a battle. Although I have to say, Sir Ethelbert Elynbrigge employs a great number of jesters, hmm.

Because Science!

Getting the detail you need into a small diorama can be tricky, but Hen Peril has managed to pull it off in this science lab with great success. The shelves are excellent as is the microscope and the air filters (or is it AC?) on the wall. The high ceilings and skylights are a perfect touch as well.
